My name is Avery K. Tingle, and I currently reside in mid-Missouri. After surviving an abusive (but educational) upbringing in Northern California, I struck out on an eleven-year search for self that landed me squarely in the Midwest. I’ve come to call it home.
I’m a writer and novelist currently publishing the web serial Universal Warrior Book One: Uprising which is a prequel to the upcoming print novel Universal Warrior: The Last Campaign. These first two stories tell a fictional version of the last days in the first war between Heaven and Hell.
I hope to, within the next ten years, earn a full-time living a writer. I’d also like to work in animated films and video games, and these take up a lot of my spare time. I’m on old-school gamer with a preference for action, fighting, football, platformers, and RPG’s.
My biggest directorial influences are John Woo and Quentin Tarantino. My favorite TV shows are Burn Notice, CSI: Miami, Leverage, and 24.
In my spare time, I like to practice martial arts, read, write, travel, cook, surf the internet, learn, and play around with technology.
I’m divorced and the proud father of two children, one of whom is about to be a teenager. I’m struggling to get custody of them now.
I’m in a committed relationship with the increasingly popular @bookwormm21 on twitter. Among her nicknames, I call her Molly, and she also works as the unflagging and tireless editor on Universal Warrior.
This blog “Life As I Play It” is your invitation to peek through a window into my life. I find that my experiences have brought me to some unique conclusions, all of which I share here. As I deal with events from both my past and present, I’m hoping that whoever reads this will either exceed my triumphs or not repeat my mistakes. Hopefully both.
As people learn from me, I hope to learn from others as well…
